Loading dock bumpers are metal shock absorbers used to safeguard the integrity of loading and unloading docks, protecting them from impacts received by trucks entering the dock to load.
The reinforced installation covers the lateral damage that a damaged pier may have, adding more sound impact surface where the stops are welded to prevent the dowels from coming off. We weld the stops to the plates and the plates are mechanically doweled to the concrete at the top and front and electrode welded to the pier frame. We recommend this type of installation whenever possible.

The simple installation is used in case the concrete of the pier is in perfect condition and of good quality (not very sandy). In this case we can weld the base of the pier frame and fix it to the concrete with mechanical plugs. With the time and the impacts the plugs are yielding taking looseness for what we always recommend to make the installation with lateral plates.
