Safety trestles

Avoid trailer swaying during the loading and unloading process at logistics docks.

Stabilizing trestles are necessary to support a semitrailer and prevent overturning and/or sudden movements during loading and unloading while the semitrailer is not coupled to the tractor.

"IT IS NECESSARY TO USE THE STABILIZER TO SUPPORT A TRAILER AND PREVENT TRAILER SWAY DURING LOADING AND UNLOADING WHEN THE TRAILER IS NOT COUPLED TO A TRACTOR."

Features

The trestles are safety elements used to support the trailer and avoid a possible overturning when the trailer is being loaded or unloaded without the tractor head attached. We have several models of supports available.

The TREMAX trestle with a capacity of up to 15 tons and the Trailer Jack stabilizers with a capacity of up to 45 tons, provide great stability during the loading and unloading process.

The difference between the stand and the stabilizer is that the stand is only placed under the trailer being a few centimeters below it and only acts if the trailer suffers a small tilt, at that moment it comes into contact with the stand and stops the tilt / tipping, instead the trailer jack or stabilizer is adjusted in height once under the trailer coming into contact during the loading and unloading process.

Although both prevent tipping, for handling heavy loads with forklifts, the use of Trailer Jacks is recommended since they are in contact with the trailer and prevent possible swaying, giving a greater sense of safety to forklift operators.

Advantages

  • Peace of mind

Having a support that avoids swaying (and possible expiration) when entering a platform with a forklift truck ensures that loading/unloading maneuvers will be done on schedule.

  • Security

It is becoming more and more common for platforms to be stolen while they are hibernating in campsites or even in parking lots. The anti-theft system developed by Forankra avoids this type of unpleasant situations.

  • Investment

If we calculate the material value of an accident involving a forklift loading a truck, we will realize that the risk and its consequences are easily avoidable, at an affordable price.

Regulations

There is no specific legal regulation governing the characteristics that trailer stabilizer supports, which are telescopic supports that are manually extended to the desired height, must meet.

In these circumstances, the supports would be work equipment and Royal Decree 1215/1997, on the use of work equipment, would apply to them, especially with regard to the conditions of resistance and stability, as well as other aspects such as not having sharp edges, etc., in any case, as they are not machines in accordance with what is set forth in Royal Decree 1644/2008, they do not have to bear the CE marking.

Instructions

It is essential to use safety chocks on the trailer wheels next to the stand or stabilizer to avoid even the slightest displacement of the trailer, which could cause the stand or stabilizer to tip over, rendering it useless and leaving the trailer exposed to possible tipping and/or displacement due to brake failure or the inertia of entering and leaving the trailer with forklifts.
